Inspiration (Information and research!) 🤩;At MYNDY, inspiration is really about a little sparkle of information that will get you excited to work out your mind.
Getting outside … Not just when it’s perfect out, not just on the weekend, but also during the day when it feels inconvenient (🤯) … gives you an immediate (+) mental boost.
The effect of the environment on your mental state is big. It’s estimated that over 10M people in the US have Seasonal Affective Disorder and we’d venture to say that many of us find ourselves in a tough spot in winter. The combination of dark mornings, dark nights and cold temps can be a tricky mix. Walking breaks, especially those taken outside, are essential to feeling good. Just 10 minutes of walking has proved to boost positive emotion, focus and flow.
Summer isn’t here…yet (even though the last few weeks in the Northeast felt like it). So, MYNDY and science would like to encourage you to step outside. Rain, snow or shine — your mind will thank you.
There are 3 ways to change your behaviour: have an epiphany, change your environment and/or take small steps. @ MYNDY We can help with 2 (today) and 3 (every day).
From us to you: permission granted to take that break. Get out there, friends.
Perspiration (Exercises and ways to work out your mind!) 🧠;Reading a book like “Atomic Habits”, learning a new stat, or writing down a quote is one thing, but without putting inspiration to work, nothing changes. This section is about small exercises that will help you work out your mind.
Your first riddle! 👀
Only one color, but not one size,
Stuck at the bottom, yet easily flies,
Present in sun, but not in rain,
Doing no harm, and feeling no pain.
What am I?
The first person to respond gets a surprise in the mail from MYNDY!
Celebration (Reasons to feel good because feeling good means doing good!)🎉;
BJ Fogg says, “we change best when we feel good, not when we feel bad". Recognizing the good is essential for the dopamine our brains need to continue to want to do things, especially things that are hard.
THANK YOU! Our members (that’s you) are everything to us. Thank you all for being a part of the early days, MYNDY is really in a special place and we’re off to the races!
HELP A FRIEND: We are out of beta and working on some new swag! If you help 5 people by referring them to our programs, you’ll win a sweatshirt (they’ll be for sale in the coming weeks thanks to popular demand)! Make sure to send your friends who are looking to build focus, energy and resilience to their day HERE
With Heart,
Lissy & The MYNDY Team
